Welcome to Pecos National Historical Park!

This park protects and interprets the history of the upper Pecos River Valley. Visitors can experience remnants of Pecos Pueblo and the 17th century Spanish mission church, and learn about the collision of the two cultures. The park also offers many other connections to southwestern history and culture, including:

  • a stage stop on the Santa Fe Trail (now called the Trading Post)

  • sites of the furthest west pivotal Civil War battle

  • New Mexico ranch and tourism history

  • Route 66 history

Begin at the Visitor Center where you can explore a newly renovated museum that covers the region's history and get assistance with planning your visit. We look forward to your visit to Pecos National Historical Park!
